Evaluation of Analysis'

After analysing all three of my music magazine I chose from their front covers, contents and double page spread it has given me some strong ideas that I wish to use when I begin to create my magazine front cover, contents and double page spread. From comparing XXL, NME and Hip Hop Weekly I have realised what looks more professional and trust worthy to your audience because too much text upon the cover can make it look cluttered rushed and unorganised, too many colours can make it seems gossipy, rushed and immature. Also poorly cut images or bad quality images can give off the wrong impression to your magazine although not having enough text can make the magazine cover look boring which then could lead to the audience choosing not to purchase it. Not enough colour upon the page can also do the same thing as well as the picture quality. So I much make sure when design and creating that I get the balance right with all aspects so that I can try and hit much target audiences requirements as possible. From the front cover analysis I have also learnt that the feature article image used on the front in vital for sales of the magazine and it much give across the right message to the audience otherwise the trust can be lost from individuals. I need to keep the artist looking strong and dominating otherwise a week magazine won't sell. The cover lines and articles mention need to catchy as it helps to draw reader is as well as the picture. To be able to hit anything right I need to work out what works the best together, reassuring I keep the image the main focus by not over cluttering with text but making sure there is another text for the magazine to look interesting. From comparing the contents of all three magazines it is clear to me that I should use larger numbering with an image on the page so that it can stand out and look an important article within the magazine. I need to also make sure I don't involve too many images on the page so that it doesn't look like a younger generation read and also contain a variety to suit all. I need to allow space for a competition on advertisement as all magazine contents seem to have one due to them believing that the audience is most interested in their magazine whilst reading this page. I will then try to maintain the theme I created upon my front cover so that there is a steady flow throughout the magazine so I can keep a high quality finish, which should help sales. I plan to then column my contents as it is an occurring theme on all the magazines I analysed, as it helps it to become an easy read for the audience. I will then colour code text like other magazines as it helps to understand the relevant parts and shows the important text. After analysing the double page spread for XXL, NME and Hip Hop magazine I will make sure there is colour involved upon the page and that the background used on it has to be relavant as maintain interesting to catch the eye of the audience when looking through the magazine. I wish to do this because I want there to be a fun and enjoyable side to the magazine as well as there being a mature and more serious side. I will also make sure I involve a pull quote which is able to catch eyes when reading so the there is an understanding of what is being said in the article interview. I will then make sure I will used three simple columns on the page so it keeps it simple theme as I don't not wish to involve to much text otherwise readers could become bored, I shall also makes sure the texts move around the image(s) used on the page so they keep link but separate and work together to make one another stand out on the page. Also I plan to use an image that portrays the article written on the page spread, I shall then size up the picture to take up almost half of the two pages so it catches eyes as quickly as possible. The title for the spread will be created to make sure it has a play on words with something to do the artist so that it can draw an audience is with something interested highlighted to them.
